Nurturing the nature island’s sea moss industry — Dominica

08 May 2024
Caption: The Gracilaria sea moss species in Dominica has traditionally been farmed to make drinks, gels and other products. As it is a slow-growing variety, however, it has caused production challenges for its farmers. FAO introduced the Eucheuma cottonii species to farmers as an alternative solution to relying on imports to meet local demand.
