The Cassava Processing facility was among several innovations launched in Mainstay/Whyaka, Guyana, under a project implemented by UNDP.
Launched 23 November 2024, the Project, “Building Resilience through climate SMART agriculture while promoting a healthier environment” is valued at about USD 56,476.00 and is the first of its kind in an Amerindian Village in Region 2, Guyana.
USD 25,837.09 was funded by the Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF-SGP) and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The climate change project was aimed at enhancing the community's resilience, sustainability, and environmental stewardship, to make it a key player in climate change mitigation and sustainable development in Guyana.
