UNEP Caribbean Webinar Series Finale
Wednesday 11 November - The UN Environment Programme Caribbean Sub-Regional Office (UNEP) is inviting the public to attend the webinar: "Circular Tourism and Public Health in the Caribbean". The session will explore the transformative potential of circular tourism in promoting sustainability, protecting natural resources, and enhancing community health.
UN at Guyana Anti-corruption and Human Rights Expo
Monday 9 December - The United Nations in Guyana will host a joint exhibition at the Anti-Corruption and Human Rights Expo, taking place 9 - 10 December 2024. UN Resident Coordinator for Guyana, Jean Njeri Kamau, will be a panelist for a discussion on human rights at the event organized by the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs and Governance in Guyana.
UN Caribbean Human Rights office Celebrates Human Rights Day
Tuesday 10 December - The newly established the UN Human Rights Office to open a Regional Office in the Caribbean will be commemorating Human Rights Day, 10 December 2024, with a special ceremony at the National Art Gallery of The Bahamas. Head of Office Michelle Brathwaite is scheduled to deliver an address at the event where The Hon. Philip Davis, Prime Minister of The Bahamas will also speak.
Jamaica Justice Fair for Persons with Disabilities
Thursday 12 December - UNDP Jamaica will support the 4th staging of the Mandeville leg of the Legal AID Council's Justice Fair for Persons with Disabilities. See the below flyer for more details.
Upcoming UN Observances
Monday 9 December -International Anti-Corruption Day will be observed under the theme “Uniting with Youth Against Corruption: Shaping Tomorrow's Integrity.”
Tuesday 10 December - Human Rights Day will be observed under the theme"Our Rights, Our Future, Right Now."
The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) will mark this observance in Latin America and the Caribbean with its celebratory event "Universal Health: Equitable Access With Financial Protection."
