Strategic resilience and climate framework for Latin America and the Caribbean 2022
The Strategic Framework for Resilience and Climate for Latin America and the Caribbean took as its starting point an integrated vision of resilience, with an emphasis on reducing the impact of climate change and improving food security and nutrition. WFP's work on resilience and climate is guided by a mission and vision defined in line with corporate policies, considering the comparative advantages of the organiSation in the region that respond to WFP's Strategic Plan for 2022 - 2025, which aims to eradicate food insecurity and malnutrition. Its aim is to help country office teams to better conceptualise and implement their resilience and climate activities while contributing more broadly with the efforts towards programmatic integration.
This document is the first regional strategy document produced by Programme unit in RBP to bring together both Resilience and Climate Change Adaptation, two important key areas of WFP’s work globally. Developed in a consultative manner with all the COs in Latin America and the Caribbean with the participation of PRO-C and PRO-R HQ, it describes WFP’s work structured around axes of action and defines fundamental principles as well and sets strategic priorities for programmatic activities, in support of COs.
