Your weekly bulletin highlighting upcoming UN Observances, Caribbean participation in UN Affairs and key events hosted by the UN System in the Caribbean.
UN Women Multi-Country Office – Caribbean is inviting the public to participate in their Gender Equality Forum —a virtual dialogue series centred on small island developing States (SIDS)— which will feature two new editions this week.
Monday 16 September - Tour three of the Forum will focus on Inclusive Health Solutions and will feature a panel of experts and advocates to explore innovative approaches to healthcare, aimed at promoting equitable access and addressing the unique needs of marginalized groups.
Thursday 19 September - Tour four of the Forum will feature crucial conversation on how we can build inclusive and peaceful societies while ensuring safe communities in Small Island Developing States. Leaders who are at the forefront of shaping a better future for all will lead this transformative dialogue.
The Summit of the Future Action Days will kick off with a dedicated, youth-led afternoon with the Opening Session to be convened by the UN Youth Office under the theme: "#YouthLead for the Future: We believe in the promise of a better world for all".

Monday 16 September -International Day for Interventional Cardiology serves to raise awareness about the field of interventional cardiology and its crucial role in treating heart diseases, improving health, increasing life expectancy and improving quality of life.
Tuesday 17 September -World Patient Safety Day in 2024 focuses onimproving diagnosis for patient safety and is observed with the slogan “Get it right, make it safe!”
Wednesday 18 September - International Equal Pay Day represents the longstanding efforts towards the achievement of equal pay for work of equal value. It further builds on the United Nations' commitment to human rights and against all forms of discrimination, including discrimination against women and girls.
Friday 20 September -World Cleanup Day will be observed for the first time ever in 2024. The theme of the inaugural event, taking place on 20 September in the city of Tromsø, Norway, is “Arctic Cities and Marine Litter”
Saturday 21 September -International Day of Peace is a time for people to see each other’s humanity, lay down weapons and observe ceasefires. The theme for the 2024 observance is 'Cultivating a Culture of Peace'.
