Summit of the Future Final Day
Monday 23 September – Seven Caribbean leaders and representatives of Government are scheduled to address the plenary meetings of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) for the final day of the Summit of the Future. The morning plenary will feature statements by The Bahamas, Belize, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica and Saint Lucia. The afternoon plenary will feature statements by Guyana and Trinidad and Tobago. The final two of four interactive dialogues will also take place on this day.
Interactive Dialogue 3: Towards a Common Digital Future: strengthening inclusive innovation and cooperation to bridge the digital divides takes place from 10 am to 1 pm AST and can be watched live on UN Web TV.
Interactive Dialogue 4: The Future Starts Now: enhancing the global system for current and future generations takes place from 3pm to 6 pm AST and can be watched live on UN Web TV.
Caribbean at UNGA79
Tuesday 24 September – From this day, world leaders and representatives of Government will address the General Debate of the 79th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA). This will continue until 30 September.
Nominate Your Champion for Gender Equality: Beijing +30!
UN Women Multi-Country Office - Caribbean is inviting nominations for 30 Caribbean Champions to support the Beijing Platform for Action 30th Anniversary – Beijing +30. These Caribbean Champions will advocate for the 12 Critical Areas of Concern and promote gender equality across the region during the year-long campaign from September 2024 to September 2025.
Criteria: We're looking for individuals committed to gender equality with proven influence in their communities or beyond, talent in public life (arts, sports, innovation, etc.), and knowledge of UN Women’s goals.
