Your weekly bulletin highlighting upcoming UN Observances, Caribbean participation in UN Affairs and key events hosted by the UN System in the Caribbean.
Monday 7 October to Thursday 10 October - The International Organization for Migration (IOM) Caribbean Office will host a 'Climate Justice Series' to foster dialogue among Caribbean youth as part of its ongoing "Conversations on Migration in the Caribbean". The Climate Justice series will provide a platform for young Caribbean leaders and activists to make their voices heard on the topic of Human Mobility and Climate Justice in this era of changing climatic conditions, disproportionately affecting the Small Island Developing States of the Caribbean.
The four episodes, hosted by popular media personality Jael Joseph and airing live online, will bring together youth activists from across the Caribbean to engage in dynamic conversations about human mobility in a changing climate, ahead of the upcoming COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Thursday 10 October - This World Mental Health Day, UNICEF Eastern Caribbean is inviting young leaders, ages 12-24, to join them for an interactive capacity building webinar aimed at boosting knowledge on the connections between Climate Change and Mental Health. Participants will learn how to safeguard their mental wellbeing and build skills needed to become effective advocates.
Friday 11 October - Relevant stakeholders in Grenada's governance, including civil society actors, national human rights institutions and regional organizations, are invited to share their perspectives on Grenada's human rights situation to contribute to its Universal Periodic Review (UPR), which will take place soon. The Universal Periodic Review (UPR) is a unique mechanism of the Human Rights Council that calls for each UN Member State to undergo a peer review of its human rights records every 4.5 years.
Friday 11 October - The deadline has been extended to this date for UNICEF Eastern Caribbean's One Minute for My Rights Adolescent Video Competition. Young people from Barbados, the Eastern Caribbean and Trinidad and Tobago are invited to show off their skills and advocate for their rights under the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

Friday 11 October - The Global Environment Facility Small Grants Programme (GEF SGP) in Guyana will host its inaugural Knowledge Fair at Regency Suites, Georgetown from 1 - 4 pm (AST).
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about GEF SGP Guyana's grant process and projects while interacting with their team at this in-person event. This video post to their Twitter page offers a preview of what to expect.
