The 2024 Model UN hosted by The Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain encouraged youth to use their voices to advocate for small island developing States (SIDS).
The Rotary Club of Central Port of Spain proudly hosted its 24th annual Model United Nations (MUN), bringing together over 90 students aged 16 to 20 from Trinidad, Curacao, and Grenada. This year’s theme focused on the critical issues of Gender and Climate Change.
The MUN program is the culmination of seven weeks of rigorous training, where participants engaged in workshops covering topics such as mental health, public speaking, diversity, research, careers in the diplomatic service and the United Nations’ commitment to addressing climate change. Participants role-played as delegates from various UN member states, fostering a deep understanding of international relations and diplomacy.
